The War is Over
The short vlog titled “The war is over” is a thought-provoking and insightful piece on the topic of anger and its roots. The video explores the idea that when people display anger towards others, they are often engaged in a battle within themselves.
Anger Management specialist Mike Fisher suggests that people who struggle with anger are frequently at odds with their own emotions, values, and beliefs, and this internal conflict is projected onto others. The video discusses the importance of understanding this dynamic and taking steps to manage one’s own emotions and reactions.
Mike suggests that so often he witnesses his clients at odds within themselves, that they are hardly even aware of. Some people can’t even imagine their inner battles ever being over. He reminds us that so much of our suffering is caused by how and what we think, feel and create. In this way, if we are the thinkers of our trouble – we can then use the same mechanism to change our inner dialogue. Of course, it requires insight, discipline and a deep commitment to a healthy relationship firstly, with ourselves and then others. We have to take advantage of the myriad of help and support out there, but at the end of the day you have to make the decision that you want to be in the world in a different way and that acting out your anger, rage and fury is a mechanism designed to sabotage yourself. Investigating the need to do that is a worthwhile prerogative.
