Mike Fisher - Founder and Director
Mike Fisher, the ‘brains behind BAAM’ has
worked with over 4500 people in 4 years and has over 18 years of experience
in the field of personal growth. Mike has become known as the leading
expert in the field of anger management in the UK and has contributed
to over 180 radio interviews, 260 magazine and newspaper articles and
many television documentaries including ‘NASTY BOSSES’, ‘THE
ANGRIEST MAN IN BRITAIN’, ’ LOSING IT’, ‘VIOLENT
FATHERS’ with Kilroy Silk and a new 1hour programme for BBC3. Due
to the growing demand for anger management literature Rider Books, part
of Random House publishers recently commissioned Mike Fisher to write
a book from his unique perspective called ‘BEATING ANGER’.
This book is the first of a series due to be published in March 2005.
Originally trained in humanistic counselling, psychotherapy and group
facilitation, Mike brings his own unique blend of different models, theories
and practical applications to this challenging and specialised field making
the integration of the work enjoyable, fun and exciting. His wealth of
knowledge and experience gives clients the added benefit of his expertise.
The sessions are conducted in an informal way, giving you the opportunity
to explore your anger at your own pace. You will discover your anger triggers,
anger styles, where your anger comes from, why you react the way you do,
identify your own natural resources, learn the six golden rules of anger
management, your anger substitutes, simple coping strategies, dealing
with trauma, staying in the FLOW and generally how to beat yours and other
peoples anger.
Linda Bolland - Course Facilitator
Linda Bolland began her coaching career in Los Angeles, California (l979). She worked for Centrum of Hollywood, Lifeline. Lifeline was a 24 hour telephone crisis line for distressed and troubled people. She worked on the telephone helpline,coaching and using counselling skills with people experiencing multiple issues causing them anxiety and distress.
She also managed the Centrum Hostel for Women in Hollywood, California. In which, she engaged woman, aged 14 –30, using coaching and counselling skills to enable them to make life transitions in housing and employment, which often included mental health and substance misuse issues She began her career, supporting people after completing an Associate of Arts Degree in Psychology at Rio Hondo College, Whittier, California (l978).
Upon taking up residency in the United Kingdom (1988) Linda continued her career supporting people with Hampshire County Council Youth Service (l994). She continued developing her coaching and facilitating skills by undertaking the Hampshire County Council Youth Work Qualification (l996), NVQ Level 4 Certificate in Facilitation Skills, Eastleigh College, Southampton (2001) and the Dip He in Youth and Community Work, Brunel University (2006). She is currently undertaking a Masters Degree with Brunel University in Youth and Community Work.
In l997 she undertook research for the West Surrey Health Authority on Mental Health provision for the homeless. She also completed research for Hampshire County Council, Hart District Council and the Blackwater Valley PCT on Access to Services for Substance Misusers in June 2000.
Her work in the Youth and Community field includes managing an Information and Advice Centre for young people aged 16 –25, in which she coached and facilitated learning in young people with a range of issues including, substance misuse, family breakdown, homelessness and mental health.
Linda also co-developed and delivered the Social Support Programme for young people in secondary schools, coaching and facilitating their learning in selfawareness, self-esteem, communication skills, anger management and conflict resolution.
In September 2003 Linda began training in Anger Management with the British Association of Anger Management. She completed her training in July 2004.
Upon completion of her training Linda has co-developed a programme of Anger Management for young people, which has been successfully delivered in London.
She is also the lead facilitator for BAAM delivering training and coaching in Anger
Management for their intensive BA2 and BA1 courses. This work is primarily for the
adult population.
She also delivers one to one coaching sessions in Anger Management for Social
Services, Education and on a private basis.anger.
CiCi Collins - Course Facilitator
CiCi Collins is a highly experienced trainer, coach and group facilitator, who has worked in the field of personal development for many years, particularly in the areas of Communication Skills, Assertiveness, Presenting Powerfully, Dealing with Anger Productively and Stress Management. CiCi was a crisis counsellor in Sydney Australia and was a founder member of Youthline, a crisis centre for young people. Her passion for the spoken word and the impact that it can have on others led her to a career in teaching (Cert Ed. Distinction) in England and Australia, and the theatre, where she worked for several years with many leading companies including the Royal Shakespeare Company in London and New York. CiCi has a Diploma in Stress Management from the London Chamber of Commerce, is a Consultant in Anger Management with the British Association of Anger Management, has a Diploma in Life Coaching and is an Advanced Meridian Practitioner using the core principles of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) blended with her own unique coaching skills. CiCi ran a “Keeping Calm” stress management training for teachers with her colleague Sue Weston and is currently working with voice over artist and Hypnotherapist Julie Mann with their company Weighout Ltd, dealing with the emotional issues around eating including anger. CiCi has extensive coaching and facilitating experience working at The Home Office, The Ministry of Justice, Camden, Fulham and Hammersmith, Harrow, Birmingham Connexions, Contact a Family across the South East, Lambeth Early Years Service, Lambeth City Learning, the NSPCC, Higgins Construction, Women Building Links into employment, Ilford young parents project, CAST, BBC (world service in Thailand) and delivering courses in hostels for domestic violence. Last year CiCi was the stress consultant for Channel 4’s Celebrity Wife Swap. CiCi has also co facilitated with Dr. Mamoun Mobayed “Anger Management – an Islamic Psycho Spiritual Approach”, offering the BAAM model for Anger Management. CiCi is currently running the Beating Anger Programme for BAAM in London.
Florence Terry - Course Facilitator
Florence has been working in the field of conflict throughout her career. She is a family law specialist solicitor and mediator. She decided to train additionally with BAAM to become an anger management facilitator having attended a BAAM programme which enabled her to address her problems with her own anger. She offers one-to-one anger management sessions and group courses in Oxford and London.
Vanessa Hope - BA DSH
Vanessa Hope is an accredited mindfulness teacher and honorary lecturer with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, Bangor University. She has trained with teachers both from Bangor and the Center for Mindfulness, Massachusetts. She has a post-graduate diploma with distinction in Mindfulness-Based Approaches and will be teaching on the MSc in Bangor next year. She has regular supervision.
Vanessa has been practicing yoga and meditation nearly 30 years and was led to teaching Mindfulness because of the profound effect it has had on her own life. She attends retreats at Amaravati Buddhist Monastery, Gaia House and with Thich Nhat Hanh.
Vanessa’s professional background was as a Homeopath, having been in practice since 1990. She has also lectured at several Homeopathy colleges and been a supervisor for both students and practitioners. She now works full-time as a Mindfulness Instructor running Mindfulness courses and Professional Training and teaching on Bangor’s Distance-Learning Course as well as offering supervision.
Vanessa started teaching mindfulness-based courses for the general public in 2001. She has also run community-funded courses for the elderly, low-income groups, social workers, carers and mental health groups.
